The company vision for Shofar So Good is to educate the churches about the biblical significance of shofars, the talit and anointing oils at the same time, providing a blessing and support to Israel.
Shofar So Good was founded in 2004 by Stephen Parker. After seeing Hannah, his daughter of 5 years old at the time, blow the shofar, which was taller than her, for the first time, he felt he was being given a vision by the Lord to bring shofars, talits and anointing oils into the church. Stephen went ahead and did research regarding shofars, talits and anointing oils and found the importance these items have in terms of biblical scripture. He then felt led by the Lord to create not only a business, but, more a ministry whereby he could connect with and educate today’s churches as well as act as a benefit towards Israel, our Christian roots. Stephen’s humble beginnings started when he was given a Rabi’s blessing to bring shofars and talits into Canada.
His first event, a black gospel concert, which he had no stock for sale and was trying to generate orders, he was able to bring his daughter’s rams horn shofar, his own personal yemenite and gemsbok shofar and talit along with several pictures of different shofars and talits. After long hours of research, phone calls and emails to individuals in Israel, he was able to connect directly with the manufactures of shofars and talits. He later then encountered a company that sold anointing oils but even though were packaged in the United States, the ingredients come from or they are produced right out of Israel.
Over the years, the Lord has blessed Stephen by bringing individuals able to recognize his overall vision, such as Joe & Karen Amaral from First Century Foundations, into his life. Stephen met Joe at a conference in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and from that point on, has been of great support in providing contact with conference planners all across Canada, in terms of setting up display tables. Stephen’s 2 daughters, Rebekah and Hannah have also shared in the vision and provided their support in offering assistance in manning display tables at several conferences. Recently, Latasha Parker, formerly, Latasha Brothers, came into Stephen’s life, recognized the value of his vision and with the intent of furthering the ministry, took on an administrative role.
